Why Socks for Dogs

What do socks do for dogs?

In general, socks can do many useful things, all helping to improve quality of life and mobility for dogs. Socks can provide traction on slick, indoor flooring. They can protect the floors and the furniture from nail marks. They can help wounds heal because they breathe, and they can keep dogs warm. Surprisingly, socks can help outdoors too by protecting paws from extreme heat, snow (plus salt and ice), and allergens. They can protect paws in rugged outdoor uses, and on abrasive surfaces like rocks, sand, and pool decks. Socks can protect paws from stickers too!

How do socks compare to other options, especially shoes?

Everyone knows dogs hate shoes! Why? Shoes have limited sizes, so it’s more difficult to get a good fit. Shoes are heavy, and they have a rubber sole that often doesn’t bend. Dogs can’t walk normally! Shoes utilize buckles, belts, or Velcro to keep them in place. Shoes are the opposite of socks in every possible way!

Woodrow Wear’s Power Paws socks have 13 sizes across 2 very different foot shapes. This range of options ensures a good fit for all dogs from 6 or 7 pounds all the way to 230+ pounds! Socks are light and comfortable. They use elastic to hold the socks in place, so they fit like skin. Socks allow the dogs to walk normally, ensuring our 99.9% success rate.

Need a cute, fun, comfortable indoor solution? We have that in a sock! Need a rugged, outdoor sock that will hold up to camping, hiking, and other rugged activities? We have that in a sock too!

For Wound Care and ProtectionIf the wound is on the paw, put a Power Paws sock on the injured paw. Power Paws are so soft and comfortable, so dogs tend to leave them (and the injured foot) alone. You may be able to remove the e-collar – a benefit for dog and owner! Vets and pet owners have achieved very good results. Use can be just one sock, or two or four for balance.
