Woodrow Wear is the company behind Power Paws™, the stretchy grip socks that help pets stand, stop, and move with confidence on slippery floors.

Every set traces back to Woodrow, the senior Rottweiler who inspired it all. He gave the company its purpose, and it proudly carries his name.

How one sock
became a lineup

Each new style answered a problem the last one couldn't.

    2004

    Woodrow's floors

    Our fifteen-year-old Rottweiler had arthritis and bad hips, and the floors at home made him struggle to stand and move daily. Infant socks with grip stitched on by hand got him standing, and running again.

    2009 – Company Launch, First product

    Original Power Paws

    An MBA program project and a desire to share the gift of mobility with others were what inspired the business to become real. After 17 years, this first product is giving way to more durable options suitable for more outside uses.

    Greyhound Edition

    Long, narrow feet never sat right in a sock cut for round pads, so we made a second foot shape. Sighthounds, poodles and plenty of back paws have worn it since.

    The second line

    Advanced

    The first stab at adding durability to the sock, we made the toe more durable to prevent long nails from poking through while helping with neurological issues. The reinforced toe was perfect through six years, inspiring the next-generation product to extend the durability through the whole foot.

    Reinforced Foot

    Made specifically for rugged outdoor use, our Reinforced Foot product goes head-to-head with shoes in uses like camping, hiking, walking on abrasive surfaces, and more. To date, this is our most durable product.

How we do business

  1. 01

    Fit comes first

    We'd rather help you find the right size than sell you the wrong one. Tried a pair and it's off? Swap it for a $5 fee that covers postage.

  2. 02

    Socks, never boots

    No rigid soles and no straps. A pet should feel the ground and walk like themselves from the first step.

  3. 03

    A person on the line

    Call on a weekday and you'll talk to someone who can help you read a paw, measure a pad and pick a shape.

  4. 04

    Every species

    Pigs, iguanas, donkeys and roosters have all worn our socks. If it walks and it slips, we'll try to fit it.
